The Indian Society of Agricultural Biochemists, Department of Agricultural Biochemistry, C.S.Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur and Department of Biochemistry, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati are jointly organizing an International Conference on “Role of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology in Food and Nutritional Security along with the XII Convention of the Indian Society at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India from December 11-14, 2013. The present theme was chosen in the light of alarming problem of food and it is essential for the survival of human being and animals. Getting of best food to the individuals is inevitable to the globe and also to Indians. Recent reports from news media said that the Indian kids lack required essential food for growth of child. Hence the role of Agriculture is essential for the betterment of Society’s Health. The agriculturists produce food grains, fruits and vegetables which may contain almost all nutrients for future of the globe. Hence to meet still problems in agriculture the role of Biochemists and Biotechnologists shall be of upmost in importance. Therefore, considering the significant role of these scientists this International Conference is proposed to help the farmers who use animals and also field as its best research field to produce best nutrients. All scientists who will come all over the globe to participate may hold discussion on various themes proposed in the Conference.
The international Conference will provide a platform to biochemists, biotechnologies, nutritionist, food technologists and industrialists involved in both plant development and providing better food and nutrition security to the society to interact and formulate recommendations which may serve as guidelines to those engaged in research and development in the area.
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME : The conference will have three categories of presentation:
1. Plenary lectures
2. Oral presentations
3. Poster presentations
Plenary lectures will be held in the morning on a topic relevant with the themes of the conference. In addition, few evening lectures by leading scientists will also be arranged.
Call for Abstract:
Authors of their original and review work are advised to submit an abstract for oral and poster presentation not to exceed 250 words to the given e-mail in the format of title, names of authors and their affiliations in MS word 2003 format in a font size of 12 of times new roman in between the line space of 1.5. The last date for submitting the abstract is August 31, 2013. The acceptance will be intimated by September 30, 2013.
THEMES FOR THE CONFERENCE: The scientific committee has identified the following themes for the four day conference:
1. Nutritional quality improvement in crops and nutraceuticals for value addition.
2. Metabolic engineering for enhancement of crop quality.
3. Biochemical and molecular basis of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance.
4. Biotechnological approaches for crop quality improvement.
5. Food technology – new frontiers.
6. Genomics, bioinformatics and animal Biotechnology.
7. Public-private partnership for capacity development and IPR.
8. Biochemistry education and research in National Agricultural Research System (NATS) –open
house discussion.
9. Session for young Scientists below 35 years of age.
REGISTRATION : The registration fee will be as under till September 30, 2013.

LANGUAGE : The official language of the Conference will be English.
VENUE : The venue of the International Conference will be Sri Venkateswara University Campus, Tirupati, A.P., India
ACCOMODATION : A range of accommodation will be arranged for the delegates in hostels and guest houses. Further details along with tariff will be provided in the second circular.
POST CONFERENCE TOUR : Visit to park Shiva Temple in Kalahasti, Vinayaka Temple Kanipakam, Talakona falls and Kapilatertham, Golden temple in Vellore will be arranged. To visit to Lord Balaji please book your tickets in advance by visiting the site: http:/www.ttd.org for special Darshan the organizers will arrange only transport facility to Tirumala hills for visit of Balaji. More details will be provided in the second circular.
CULUTRAL PROGRAMME: An attractive cultural programme depicting Indian particularly south Indian culture will be arranged for all the delegates and their accompanying spouses/ guests.
SECOND CIRCULAR :Second circular containing full information about the plenary speakers, technical programme, registration, calendar for the conference including dead line dates for submission of abstracts/full papers, details of post conference tours and reservation of accommodation will be sent to those who send the PRE-REGISTRATION FORM attached with the circular around December, 2012.
ABOUT TIRUPATI AND VENKATESWARA UNIVERSITY: Tirupati is located in Andhra Pradesh under the feet of Balaji hills. Tirupati is well connected with trains, flights and buses. The nearest international air port is Chennai. Chennai is connected with all countries flights. In Tirupati Sri Venkateswara University is holding 1000 acres of land. This is one of the best universities in Andhra Pradesh. This university is at present containing 71 courses, five colleges, 500 faculty members, 3000 Ph.D scholars, 400 students and 1800 administrative staff. With the cooperation of all these members it received NAAC A grade, 19th in Research in India and blessed for DST Purse program.
The climate of Tirupati will be pleasant during December and Temperature will be around 60-70°F and woollen clothes will be quite sufficient for stay.
ABOUT BIOCHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT: This department has completed 35 years of age since its inception in 1978. It has produced about 70 Ph.D. and 500 M.Sc. graduates. In addition to Biochemistry it also provides courses on Immunotechnology and M.Pharmacy. Further to its credit it has successfully completed more than 50 research projects from UGC, DST, DBT, CSIR, DAE and DRDO. Further it is recognized as centers of UGC BSR and also DST-FIST. This department faculty has produced more than 300 publications in reputed journals and conducted two sbc meetings, three National Conference and two refresher courses. The faculty members have knowledge in almost all Biochemistry and pharmacy fields.

The cost on the back page of the book Rs. 25,000/- inside of back pages Rs. 20,000/-, inside of front page Rs. 20,000/- and half pages in the middle Rs. 10,000/-. Those companies or individuals who are interested may send their request to Organizing Secretary along with their details and an attached DD for the cost of advertisement.
